BLUR frontman Damon Albarn predicted an Oasis reunion a year before it was announced and even "put money on it." The 56-year-old musician told The Sun last summer that he was certain the iconic band would reunite. His prediction came today when Oasis brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher revealed plans for a grand comeback.

Although Oasis and Blur were Britpop rivals in the ’90s, Noel has grown close to Damon . Damon told The Sun last May: “I can guarantee they’re going to reform. In fact, I’ve put money on it.

They’re brothers and it would be wonderful to see them reconcile.” Noel and Liam haven’t shared a stage together since a dramatic fallout in 2009, which resulted in a backstage fight in Paris and the break-up of the band. More on Damon Albarn Oasis have now secretly agreed a deal to return for a series of UK concerts next summer.

It is expected to be the most in-demand tour in British concert history. A music industry insider said : “Oasis’s comeback tour is going to be absolutely massive and next summer they’re going to be taking over the country. “They will announce four shows at Wembley Stadium today, along with a load more dates across the whole of the UK — including in Manchester, which will be incredibly poignant for them.

Most read in Showbiz “Live Nation and SJM have joined up on the project because it’s so enormous. In short, today there are going to be a ton of tickets available – Noel and Liam want everyone to have the chance to see them.” They will officially announce the news in the coming days, with Wednesday marking 15 years since Noel dramatically quit the band .

Manchester’s Heaton Park and London’s Wembley Stadium have been touted as venues for the massive concerts.
