M. LOLITA, BACK BAY Ron I’m in search of a partner who can join me in my life adventures. Cat I’d been reading the column for a while, so I figured I’d give it a try.
Ron I prepared myself so that the interaction between us would be smooth and pleasant. I felt energized by the time I met her. Cat I felt calm and curious about my date.
Ron We both were on time. I went to reception and asked for the reservation. Cat I was standing right near the host stand so I heard when he asked about our reservation.
Advertisement Ron When I saw her, she seemed to be like the moon in daylight. I was very thankful to god for creating such a beautiful girl. She was wearing a beautiful blue dress.
Cat He seemed nice. He was dressed casually but not sloppy. Ron We were waiting in the lounge until our table was ready.
We started to talk about our professions and where we were working. We talked about our backgrounds before ordering. Cat We talked about how long we’d lived in Boston.
Right after that, we realized neither of us drink, so we talked about why. Ron We both like cats. In fact, we spent around 15-20 minutes talking about cats and how important they are in our lives.
Cat He had two cats who both seemed really cute! Apparently he gave one of the cats ice cream for the first time last weekend, which gave the cat brain freeze. We also talked about the Olympics, especially the Turkish air pistol shooter who’s become a meme. Ron We both like to travel and try new restaurants.
We started to discuss hobbies and activities that we do in our free time. She likes seafood and she was amazed after I told her I cook good Indian seafood. Cat We are both engineers who like cooking.
Advertisement Ron We ordered mahi-mahi fish tacos and blackened shrimp empanadas. Food was amazing. Cat We split the shrimp quesadillas and the mahi-mahi tacos for our mains, then split the tres leches cake and coco frio for dessert.
The food was really good. The restaurant was a little loud for a first date though. Ron I was fully comfortable and confident with her.
[I liked her at] the point she said she is ambitious and cares for cats. I love people who love cats. Cat My comfort level stayed about the same.
Ron We had a great talk so we decided to end the date. We both had work [the next day] and it was late. Cat After dessert it felt like the date was naturally wrapping up.
Ron I dropped her to the T and we said bye there. As per my tradition, we never kiss or hug on a first date because of respect. Cat He walked me to my T stop.
We shook hands and he went to his stop. Ron Maybe. I invited her to taste my homemade Indian food.
Cat No. It seemed pretty clear as the night went on that we didn’t have many interests in common. Ron / A+ Cat / B Go on a blind date.
