Sometime during the film, the song Cherry by plays, starting as Blake’s character Lily Bloom is making a flower arrangement. Cherry plays in a panning shot of the city, going on to show characters Allysa (Jenny Slate) and Marshall (Hasan Minhaj) announcing they’re having a child together. Blake’s song choice for the film didn’t go over well with the team.
While the team believed it was best to axe Lana’s record from the film, Blake obviously didn’t agree since she refused to do it. “I’m not supposed to be talking about this. They begged me to take that movie out – that song out of the movie,” the actor said in an interview with Hits Radio UK.
