This weekend, the Blackpool sky will the stage for some of the countries finest aircrafts. Thousands will be in attendance for the Blackpool Airshow set to take place this weekend (August 10 to 11). One of the longest running air shows in the world, The Blackpool Airshow dates back to 1909, when it was first held at Blackpool Airport showcasing some of the first planes ever built.
As well as the performances in the skies, visitors can explore the Air Show Village, which will feature a range of stalls, attractions and food concessions. The Airshow Village will be open from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.
The main displays will take place between 2pm and 5pm on both days. This year, the Airshow will see the return of the Red Arrows, as well as appearances from the Spitfire, the RAF Typhoon and the BBMF Lancaster, amongst many others.
