BLACKPINK is set to dominate 2025 with their individual projects before reuniting for a highly anticipated comeback after their 2022 release. With YG Entertainment confirming the group's return and the members themselves teasing it, fans are in for a treat as Jisoo, Lisa, Jennie and Rosé embark on diverse solo ventures that showcase their versatility and global appeal. Jisoo: If you’re a fan of zombie apocalypse thrillers, Jisoo’s upcoming Kdrama Newtopia is not to be missed.
Based on Han Sangwoon’s novel Influenza, the show promises to fill the void left by All of Us Are Dead while adding a romantic twist. Directed by Yoon Sunghyun (Time to Hunt) and co-written by Han Jinwon (Parasite) and Ji Hojin (A Shop for Killers), Newtopia is set for release on February 7, 2025, on Coupang Play and Prime Video. Jisoo will play Kang Youngjoo, an engineer who reunites with her boyfriend Lee Jaeyoon (played by Park Jeongmin) amidst a zombie outbreak.
The series is already building high expectations with its stellar cast and gripping storyline. Adding to her packed schedule, Jisoo will headline the Empire Music Festival in Hong Kong on January 5, where she will perform new music and interact with fans. She is also set to star in her first film, The Prophet: Omniscient Reader and another romantic Kdrama Monthly Boyfriend alongside Seo In Guk.
