Instead of Black Friday, how about Black River Cottage, 4747 Detroit Road in Sheffield Village? This quaint little cottage that houses two grand ladies, has amazing artwork and original gifts and a whole lot of love.
The Black River Cottage Art Studio & Gift Shoppe sells original art, hand painted furniture, gift items, home decor, floral designs and much more. It also has watercolor classes from 4 p.m.
to 6 p.m. Wednesdays.
The shop is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.
m. Wednesday through Friday, and 11 a.m.
to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
Originally, it opened in May 2023 with sister duo Lisha Nasipak and Debbie Anderson. After the recent passing of Nasipak’s husband, she channeled her energy into growing her boutique and teaching others the healing power and beauty of creating art. “I’m not sure I can express well everything that we have going on since I’m in the process of grieving the death of my husband,” Nasipak said.
“My sister moved to Ohio from Tennessee in December of 2022. “We discussed opening a shop together. During the same time, my husband was diagnosed with a terminal illness.
