Prayagraj : The district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gearing up for Phulpur bypoll as the bypoll was necessitated after sitting BJP MLA from Phulpur, Praveen Patel, was elected Phulpur MP in the recently concluded parliamentary polls. BJP leadership has started the work of booth mapping and voters’ verification and decided to organise workers’ meetings and voters’ felicitation events. BJP spokesman Rajesh Kesarwani told TOI that the party has taken up its preparation in view of the bypoll and will be focusing on a voters’ connect drive with the objective of winning the bypoll.

He, however, said, “Party workers will be connecting with voters to expose the false propaganda of rival camps who had managed to misguide voters during the Lok Sabha polls.” Kesarwani, meanwhile, said, “Party leadership has drafted a fresh strategy to contest the Phulpur bypoll and senior party functionary from the state will also be canvassing in Phulpur.” The BJP leaders will be approaching voters apprising them about the development being carried out under the regime of BJP-led central and state govts.



A senior BJP functionary, meanwhile, admitted that following BJP candidate Praveen Patel’s narrow margin win as a Member of Parliament from the Phulpur Lok Sabha seat, they have drafted a planned strategy for the hotly contested by-election for the Phulpur assembly constituency. He, however, said, “State BJP leadership has signalled an all-out effort to field a strong contender for the Phulpur bypoll. Many BJP stalwarts, including ex-MLAs, have expressed keen interest in vying for this prestigious seat.

Key BJP meet today ahead of party polls Over 200 delegates attended the BJP national office-bearers' meeting in New Delhi to finalize the 'Sangathan Parv' membership drive, which concludes with the election of a new party president. The meeting included key BJP leaders, except those from states facing upcoming elections. This process might include appointing a 'working president' before a formal election.
