Problems for former BJD MLA Pranab Balabantaray compounded following land grab allegations against him. It has been alleged before the Jajpur Collector that Balabantaray has grabbed some government land at Naugaon under Dharmasala Tehsil using fraudulent means. Following the allegation, the Revenue Department started the initial measurement of the land on Thursday for the demarcation of the government land.
“I had brought the allegation against our former MLA Pranab Balabantaray that he has encroached government forest and grazing land for constructing his luxurious building,” said Alok Lenka, a local resident. “Former MLA Pranab Balabantaray encroached on some forest and grazing lands. Following the allegation against him in this connection, initial measurement of the land has been carried out by the Revenue Department,” said Sribatsa Dey, another local resident.
