PETER pan's 'birthplace' has hit the market just weeks after the popular visitor attraction announced its shock closure. Before opening its doors in 2019, the house was saved from demolition and given a multi-million pound refurb. It doubled as the National Centre for Children 's Literature and Storytelling and as a popular tourist attraction which allowed visitors to explore the world of JM Barrie. And prior to the much-loved site closing this Friday, August 23, the Georgian building has been put up for sale.

Staff wrote on social media : "It is with a heavy heart that we announce the imminent closure of the Peter Pan Moat Brae Trust and Visitor Centre from Friday August 23. Disney fans stunned by mind-blowing Little Mermaid crossover theory with Peter Pan "We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the staff, volunteers, members and many supporters of the Trust for their commitment in bringing the magic of books and storytelling to life for the thousands of visitors who have passed through the doors. "Every possible effort and option have been explored by the Trustees and staff of the Moat Brae Peter Pan Trust, therefore it is with deep sadness that we announce the end of operations.

"Please do take the opportunity to visit our beautiful house and gardens as much as possible before the doors close for the final time on the 23rd. We are currently offering 50 per cent off all our shop stock and FREE adult entry to the house and gardens.
