A Birmingham woman confined to her hotel room on a £3,000 luxury holiday said she would "never have booked" the trip if she'd have known how it would turn out. Brummie Cordelia Plummer and her partner Ian Waller booked their "dream holiday" through TUI for a two-week stay at the Riu Cabo Verde hotel in Sal, Cape Verde . The couple booked the five-star hotel through tour operator TUI, with the intention of making the most of the luxury facilities and lush landscapes on offer.
But once they had arrived, both Cordelia and Ian were struck with severe sickness. Customer service assistant Cordelia, 56 from Birmingham, and partner Ian, also 56 and from Hull, are among the latest group of holidaymakers to contact lawyers about their experience on Cape Verde. A total of 926 people have come forward over the last three years to say they suffered gastric sickness after visiting various hotels on the tropical island, reports the Mirror.

Pictures taken by Cordelia showed the couple smiling on their balcony and enjoying time by the pool. But a week into their stay, Shard End resident Cordelia experienced stomach problem.
