In a bid to connect spirituality with nature, a two-day bird festival is scheduled during the Kumbh Mela, the world's largest religious gathering, on February 1-2 next year. Official sources confirmed the event, aimed at highlighting Prayagraj's biodiversity, specifically its 90 bird species. The event, themed 'Kumbh's faith, conservation of nature and climate,' promises to enhance wildlife tourism by integrating the state's natural beauty circuits, forests, and historical sites.
Educational institutions from the vicinity will participate, while seers and international experts join panel discussions. According to Divisional Forest Officer Arvind Kumar, the festival will also feature a photo exhibition, drawing ornithologists and conservationists worldwide. A proposal has been sent to the government to secure approvals necessary for the event.
