MP1ST shared an image from the showreel of a visual effects artist at 2K. According to them, the image is from a 2021 demo build, so it might not reflect the final game and could be outdated.
The image shows the first-person shooter perspective fans expect, a basic user interface, and a ‘Ricochet Shotgun.’ There are also icons for BioShock -style plasmid powers, including one that looks like an electricity bolt and another that resembles a stopwatch, possibly indicating time manipulation powers. The character in the image faces a burning orb on a pedestal.
Another important thing to note is that the codename “Parkside” is visible, which aligns with a 2019 Kotaku report and a recent Epic Game Store leak. 2K announced the new BioShock in 2019, developed by Cloud Chamber. It’s set in a “new and fantastical world,” so don’t expect a return to Rapture or Columbia from the original games.
Original BioShock chief Ken Levine isn’t involved, as he’s now working on Judas with his new studio, Ghost Story Games.
