President Joe Biden will award the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor, to a group of 19 politicians, athletes, artists, and humanitarians Saturday. Biden has less than three weeks left in office and has spent recent days honoring Americans for contributions to society. On Friday, he bestowed Medals of Honor and Valor on 15 public service officers and veterans.
That group notably included several Nashville, Tennessee, police officers who worked to end the mass shooting at The Covenant School in 2023. And earlier in the week, the president bestowed the Presidential Citizens medal on former Rep. Liz Cheney and Rep.
