T-Series head Bhushan Kumar has been riding high on the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, but his latest reveal is set to generate even more buzz. In a candid conversation with Connect Cine, Bhushan shared updates on one of his most personal projects: the biopic of his father, Gulshan Kumar. While the film has been in the works for years, it’s now undergoing major script changes due to creative differences with his family, especially his mother.
Though Bhushan Kumar hasn’t made an official announcement yet, it’s an open secret in the industry that Aamir Khan was attached to the project. Bhushan confirmed the association, saying, “We were ready with it earlier, it was superb, even though we officially didn’t announce it, everyone knew that Aamir Khan was going to be a part of it. He still wants to, he always tells me, it is the best script he has read in recent times.
” However, the project hit a roadblock when Bhushan’s mother raised concerns over the script’s perspective. He explained, “There were some reservations from the family about it, especially from my mother. She wanted to tell the story from one perspective, and we wrote the script from another perspective.
” Bhushan Kumar emphasized the importance of having his mother’s blessing before moving forward with the film. “Obviously, I cannot make a film on my father if my mother is not convinced about it. Once she is convinced, which she will eventually do, the world will get to witness a very inspiring.
