Dec. 11, 1938 - Sept. 5, 2024 RUPERT — Beverly Jane Bennett, an 85-year-old resident of Rupert, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024, at her daughter's home in Albion surrounded by her loving family.

Beverly was born on December 11, 1938. She entered the world on a cold winter night in Alliance, Ohio, bringing much joy and warmth to her loving parents, James Bell and Edith Turpin. At five months old her mom and dad moved to Vernal, Utah.

It was a short six months later that her father moved back to Ohio and joined the armed forces. Her mother stayed in Vernal where she later married Neldon Calder. They gave Beverly two younger sisters, Bonnie Jean and Neda Rae.

Her biological father married June Bell and they had two children, Diane Kay Bell and Kevin Scott Bell. During her early years, Beverly attended Central Grade School. She excelled in school and was usually the teacher's favorite! Growing up, Beverly always wanted to live on a ranch.

She would spend as much time as possible with her grandparents, Ruvina and Jess Caldwell on their ranch in Vernal. She was the apple of their eye and they raised her as if she was their own daughter. During her childhood, when times got tough she went to the ranch to be with them.

It was her safe and happy place. Eventually her parents moved to Salt Lake City for a better work opportunity. She attended Granite High School in Salt Lake, where she was a member of the Granite High Pep Club.

However, you can bet she returned to her grandparents and the ranch in Vernal every chance she got! In the summer of 1960, Beverly tried out for the Dinosaur Round Up Days Rodeo Queen in Vernal. She was practicing in the rodeo arena when a handsome cowboy rode in on a colt he was breaking. That cowboy happened to be KLynn Bennett.

The moment he saw Beverly he thought to himself, that's the girl I'm going to marry. It's safe to say, it was love at first sight! They dated for a few months before he gave her a ring. She went on to win the title of Miss Vernal Rodeo Queen at the Dinosaur Round Up Days.

Later that year, she was in Las Vegas representing this title when she called her sweetheart and asked him if he'd like to be married in Vegas! KLynn hopped a plane and they exchanged vows at the Gretna Green Chapel on August 7, 1961. Almost exactly, one year and one month later, on Sept. 8, 1962, they welcomed their first-born daughter, Tamera.

Beverly followed KLynn to many rodeos with their little cowgirl tucked in the back of the Volkswagen. A few years later, in 1965, Beverly gave birth to her tough little cowboy, Marty Lynn. In 1973, a third baby blessed their home.

A beautiful, brown-eyed cowgirl, Becky Lynn made her appearance and completed their family. KLynn worked for the BLM and Beverly was able to have the greatest job of being a mom and raising their children. Working for the BLM the family lived in Utah, Colorado, Washington, DC, Nevada and Idaho.

The kids had a wonderful childhood. As a mother, Beverly was kind and gentle. She kept a clean, comfortable home and a beautiful yard.

She taught her children the importance of being compassionate and loving each other. She was frugal with money and showed her love for people through her actions. She also had a sassy side.

She had a great sense of humor and would often make her kids and especially her grandkids laugh. She may have never admitted it, but she loved to be teased by her grandchildren and could dish it right back! After KLynn's retirement, they settled in Rupert, Idaho, where they could be close to their children and grandchildren. At their home, Beverly and KLynn have a beautiful garden.

She took great pride in the garden and spent many hours in it. She had a deep love for all animals and brought home many to love and nurture over the years. Throughout her life, she attended many rodeos.

She loved to watch her children and grandchildren compete and if she had the choice, she would have never missed a single one. Beverly was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints. Her favorite calling in the church was the nursery.

She enjoyed the little children, especially the babies. She could often be found hiding in the nursery holding a baby. Beverly had a strong testimony of the gospel and loved her Heavenly Father very much! Beverly and KLynn were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple.

They spent their lives caring for each other in sickness and in health. Their relationship and love for each other was very special and we are so grateful for the example they have set for our family. Beverly was preceded in death by her father, James Bell; mother, Edith Turpin; step-father, Neldon Calder; step- mother, June Bell; and sister, Neda Rae; as well as her beloved grandparents, Jess and Ruvina Caldwell.

She is survived by her loving husband, KLynn Bennett; children: Tammy (Jeff) Chatburn, Marty (Amy) Bennett, and Becky (Rob) Hitt; her sisters: Bonnie Jean Bowers and Diane Kaye Bell; her brother, Kevin Scott Bell; grandchildren: Jamie (Adam) Miller, Kody Chatburn, Keegan Chatburn, Hagan (Molly) Hitt, Hallee (Kendal) Thomas, Kelton (Natalie) Hitt, Brogan (Audrey) Bennett, Savanna (Jake) Arkoosh, Lynara Bennett and Elexis Bennett; as well as 13 great-grandchildren. In April, Beverly came to live in Albion on the Chatburn Ranch with her son-in-law, Jeff and daughter, Tammy. Her last six months of life were filled with some trials, as well as many great memories.

She overcame a fractured tibia, mini stroke and pneumonia, all while continuing her dialysis treatments. She worked hard with her favorite physical therapist, Jeff, to be able to walk again with her walker. She attended her grandkids high school rodeos, barrel races, concerts and went on many road trips with Jeff and Tammy over the summer.

Her favorite activity was riding to the mountain on the side by side with her dog, Stormy. She loved being outdoors and thoroughly enjoyed nature. She set a goal to attend her granddaughter, Hallee's, wedding in August and was able to be there with her whole family and her sweetie seated by her side! Beverly fought until the very end and refused to ever give up on life.

On Sunday, September 1, 2024 she was given the devastating diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. She returned to the ranch in Albion where she was loved and comforted until our Heavenly Father called her home on September 5, 2024. She passed peacefully with family by her side.

We would like to express our gratitude to Natalie and the Burley Davita Dialysis Center for caring for her throughout her journey. We would also like to thank the Intermountain Home Health and Hospice team, Jeff, Kay, Alice, Stephanie, Ilene, Yamammy and Christian for the excellent care they provided our beloved mother and grandmother!
