Pune: State president of NCP (SCP) Jayant Patil on Friday said that schemes started by the state govt , including Ladki Bahin and Ladka Bhau, will not be discontinued if MVA comes to power but will be restructured to provide better benefits to the people. “Fearing defeat in the upcoming assembly election, the Mahayuti govt is on a spree announcing various schemes in haste without applying its mind. Once MVA comes to power after the poll, we will continue with these schemes with a framework to give better benefits to the people,” Patil said at the inaugural rally of the party's Shiv Swarajya rally in Shivneri Fort on Friday.

The rally started a day after the Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP rolled out its Jansamwad rally, a reachout programme ahead of the assembly poll. The NCP (SCP) rally led by its Lok Sabha MP Amol Kolhe will cover various districts. Patil added that their rally is aimed at throwing the Mahayuti govt out of power.

“We will expose its corruption and how it lowered the standard of our state's politics by breaking up parties. Voters will support us in the same way they did for the Lok Sabha election," he added. He reiterated that MVA will win over 170 seats in the assembly election to form govt.

"The election should be held before Diwali, but since the Mahayuti govt is rattled, they want to push the date as far as possible. It could be held mid-Nov and by then, govt will exhaust all funds to distribute through schemes to attract voters. But, the people are wise and will back MVA.

We will form govt,” the state NCP (SCP) president said.
