Bette Midler says she got “strange feedback” regarding her request on social media to join the cast of Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” The Emmy, Grammy and Tony Award winner confessed that she “always hints” on X about desired roles and, earlier this year, decided to put out feelers about the popular L.A.

-based reality series. “[I tweeted], ‘Is it too late for me to be on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills?’ I did tweet that and I did get some really strange feedback,” she told E! News about her March post. In her original tweet, the “First Wives Club” star admitted she has “never watched” the show but said it was a “dream” to “talk some s–.

And to get paid for it.” The official Bravo account responded at the time, “Talk about a glorious crossover,” while others said Midler joining the cast would be “pure magic.” Some, however, didn’t seem too keen on the idea, with one writing simply, “No thank you.

” Others — many supporters of former President Donald Trump, who Midler routinely criticizes — said she “wouldn’t fit in with the ladies of Beverly Hills,” slamming her as not wealthy or beautiful enough. In response, Midler, 78, said she’s “not exactly a [housewife],” but rationed, “Why not? Who cares after all this time?” Andy Cohen, who oversees all of the “Housewives” franchises, shared his support for the idea of Midler joining the cast, saying on his Sirius XM radio show that “she would be the grand dame of Beverly Hills in a second,” making a reference to the nickname given to “Real Housewives of Potomac” star Karen Huger. “I will be very excited for Bette Midler to join ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,'” he added.

“Also, I mean, Bette Midler is a superstar. How much would that cost because she said she wants to make a lot of money to s– talk.” Neither Midler or Cohen have confirmed she will join the show.
