BMW have revealed the return of the iconic M5 Touring estate - which was originally discontinued in 2010 with the V10-engined ‘E61’. The stunning super wagon is set for an early 2025 release and will boast a V8-engined plug-in hybrid motor - capable of reaching 189 mph. 4 BMW are set to release the M5 Touring in early 2025 Credit: BMW 4 The stunning fast estate can hit up to 189 mph Credit: BMW The M5 is perhaps one of BMW's most mythical performance variants, having existed on and off since 1984.

While most known for its saloon form, an estate - or 'wagon' version - has existed in the past from 1992 to 1995, and again from 2006 to 2010. First unveiled during the Monterey Car Week in California, the M5 Touring joins another BMW super wagon - M3 Touring - which was unveiled last year. This means for the first time, the German marque will offer two super estates.

Inside there's the M5-standard racing bucket seats, a stylish carbon fibre trim and BMW’s Curved Display powered by the iDrive system.

Its supercar performance also comes with supercar-esque pricing, which starts at £112,500 - around £1,000 more than the standard M5. It will go up against other fast estates on the market at the moment, notably its German rivals Audi, with the twin-turbocharged RS6 Avant Performance, and Mercedes-AMG's C63 S E Performance.
