Brits have been debating the finest beer gardens in the country. A group of Wetherspoon enthusiasts, all part of a Facebook group called The JD Wetherspoon Appreciation Society, took to the page to discuss which is the finest outdoor beer-guzzling area anywhere in the famous Budget chain’s portfolio. The question was posed by a man called Andrew, who asked: “More people in the beer gardens than the pubs yesterday, which got me thinking.

Which Spoons has the best or worst beer garden?” People were quick to offer up some candidates, with an eclectic and stunning selection of glorious beer gardens. Some of the ones mentioned were: Of those top contenders, the Imperial in Exeter was a regular favourite, with one person saying: “Exeter's Imperial has a fabulous beer garden! In fact, it's so good you can hear trains coming in and out of St. David's station which is very near here!” Not everyone went for the best they knew of, however, with one person taking things in a very different direction to the beautiful scenery that had been shared by other members of the group.

The bloke simply wrote: “stoke,” followed by a picture of a concrete yard, a wooden gate, a bloke smoking a cigarette and, in the corner, a rat trap. The man has since told the Daily Star that it was the Wheatsheaf in Stoke-on-Trent. He said: "I'm a big Spoons fan who visited 426 and it's not one of the best".

Andrew edited his former post to give his thoughts on what he had seen, saying: “I really liked the Figure of Eight's one yesterday, while the Queen of Iceni by the river in Norwich is very nice. “For the worst, I believe..
