SummerSlam is fast approaching us and it promises to be the most awe inspiring and thrilling event of the summer in WWE. It has a Legacy of hosting some of the most exhilarating matches and edge of the seat thrillers, in the history of the game. In 2023, SummerSlam was no different and kept the audience and fans intrigued and stuck to their screens.

Here are 4 best matches of SummerSlam 2023 In a move that shocked the whole world, Brock Lesnar attacked Cody Rhodes at Raw after Mania, after promising to aid him against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa at the start of the show. They subsequently fought two matches at Backlash and Night of Champions and the score was 1-1 with Cody winning the first bout and Lesnar winning the second. After the loss in the second match, Cody challenged Lesnar to face him again whenever he wished to.



Lesnar made his comeback on July 3 and had a big brawl with Cody. After again attacking Rhodes the following week, Lesnar accepted Cody’s challenge at SummerSlam. After one hell of a fight, and probably the best match of that night, Rhodes defeated Lesnar, when he delivered a Triple CrossRhodes to him, to finish the match and the rivalry on a high.

The beautiful thing about this match was, after it got over, Lesnar shook Cody’s hand in acknowledgement of The American Nightmare. In the fourth match of the night, Ronda Rousey squared off against Shayna Baszler, in a unique MMA rules match. It was the first of its kind and was a hell of a contest.

Baszler won the match comprehensively, after she applied the Kirifuda clutch on Rousey. Ronda couldn't take it and passed out therefore, Baszler was declared the winner by technical submission. In the middle of a fierce familial feud, Roman Reigns went one on one against Jey Uso, for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

This match would also decide the real Tribal Chief of the Anoa’i family. After a humdinger of a match, the ending of it sent shockwaves throughout the world. Jey’s twin brother Jimmy, who was out due to an injury caused by Roman and Solo Sikoa, interfered in the match to stop Jey from pinning Roman, when he was on the cusp of victory.

He didn't just prevent Jey from pinning Roman, he also Superkick'd him and threw him inside the ring, almost gift wrapped for Roman to easily take the victory. Once Jey got in the ring, Reigns hit him with a Spear through the table in the corner, and won the match via pinfall. The betrayal by Jimmy Uso to his brother was earth shattering and it was one of the most shocking endings of a match at SummerSlam.

Gunther went toe to toe against Drew Mcintyre to defend his Intercontinental Championship. After a brilliant contest between two heavyweights and technically gifted wrestlers, Gunther ultimately picked up the win, with a Lariat and Powerbomb on Mcintyre to keep his Intercontinental Championship intact..
