Tired minds don’t fare well. The hustle and bustle of our day-to-day lives can leave us feeling bereft of valuable hours of sleep and keep us from, well, functioning. So, it is even more important that when we enter the gilded hours of our REM sleep at night, we lie comfortably.

are one pillar, another — but let’s not forget the perfect bedding to make the most of our down time. From sheets and throws, to duvets and pillows, these are the Vogue editor’s tried and trusted favourites to guarantee a good night’s sleep. Trust us, we’ve tried them them all.

Alice Newbold, executive fashion news editor & features editor Tekla wins the textile game in my home. Since upgrading our towels and bath robes for the former Acne designer’s thick organic terry versions, it seemed rude not to overhaul our bedding too. Next on the list? The mohair and wool-blend blanket to throw on top of the duvet for maximum cosiness.

Hannah Coates, beauty & wellness editor I am a true believer that what you sleep in is as important as what you sleep on. My go-to bed linen is from Piglet. Made of 100 per cent linen and available in an array of earthy tones, it makes slipping into my sheets each night a real moment (which is as it should be).

I also recently switched my duvet out for a new one from Dusk, which seems to keep me warm when I'm cold, and cool when I'm warm. The best of every world. Kerry McDermott, digital director Investing in Tekla bedding was one of the best decisions I made in lockdown, back when we were all frantically colour coordinating our bookshelves and rearranging the kitchen furniture.

The 100 per cent organic percale cotton duvet set – in a gorgeously washed-out shade of mallow pink – makes me happy every time I turn in. Laura Hawkins, fashion features editor I’d love to claim bedroom ownership of Colville’s delightfully cosy wool blanket, but my cat also has eyes for its striking stripe details. For lie-in lovers and spoilt kitties alike, this is a sublime snuggly layer for a welcome weekend of waking up late, featuring bold asymmetric patterning that has the charm of Milanese furnishings.

I’m also having recurring dreams about the brand’s bright dotted pillows, which would prop my head up perfectly on a Sunday morning. Joy Montgomery, commerce editor This might seem like a bit of a curveball, but you wouldn’t believe how many industry insiders have recommended H&M’s linen bedding to me. Coming in a range of shades, I have lost count of the number of times I’ve spotted the brand's offering on big-name Instagram feeds.

Soft, cooling and easily washable – what more could you possible want? Sarah Harris, editor-at-large Bedfolk told me that their duvets are like sleeping under a cloud and honestly, I wouldn’t disagree. I recently snapped up their recycled down duvet – made from 100 per cent recycled down; they take pre-loved down from luxury apparel and regenerate it – and have never slept better. I also added their classic cotton sheets in dove grey to my basket, super-smooth, they’re woven from the finest singly-ply cotton.

The only downside? It doesn’t make you want to get-up-and-go in the morning, rather, hit the snooze button for a few minutes more. Laura Ingham, deputy director, global fashion network I love these high thread count sheets and pillow cases which I buy in pristine white. They seem to get better the more you use them.

Rachel Garrahan, contributing jewellery & watch director It could just be for a 20 minute schluff or, if I’m really lucky, a full-blown 12 hour all-nighter, but there is nothing I love more than getting into bed. I'’e fallen for Coco and Wolf’s pillowcases in Prospect Road, a Clarice Cliff-inspired archival Liberty fabric in luxurious silk satin, which has the added benefit of being kind to my skin and hair. Combined with the calming blue and enveloping softness of Caravane’s chambray bedding, I’m off to the Land of Nod in an instant.

Naomi Smart, commerce director I’ve had my eye on Swedish lifestyle and bedding brand Magniberg since they launched in 2016. They are bedding disrupters (yes that’s a thing!) and its selection of peppy colours and fresh interiors styling caught my eye instantly. I love these sunny spring yellow and stripe sets and will mix and match the sheets like I would an outfit.
