With over 10 lakh visitors expected, especially on weekends, the Horticulture Department has made extensive arrangements to ensure smooth management of the crowds.

Various competitions like Ikebana, vegetable and fruit carving, Pushpa Bharati, and Bonsai displays are among the attractions organised to engage attendees. A remarkable Rs 2.5 crore has been allocated to transform the venue into a floral wonderland, with most flowers sourced locally from Lalbagh itself.

Additional varieties were brought in from Pune to further enhance the grandeur of the displays. Ticketing and show Timings Visitors can enjoy the flower show from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily. Ticket prices are set at Rs 80 for adults and Rs 30 for children on weekdays.

Sustainability initiatives poised as the key highlight of the event The show is also putting a strong emphasis on sustainability this year. The Horticulture Department, in collaboration with volunteers and the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), has planned a waste-free event. The department has partnered with Beautiful Bharat for nearly a decade to manage the event’s environmental impact.

Efforts are underway to reduce plastic waste, including a ban on non-woven polypropylene (NWPP) bags, which are often mistaken for cloth. Vendors have been asked to follow stringent guidelines, including a refundable deposit of Rs 5,000 and a commitment to keeping their areas clean. Attendees are encouraged to bring reusable bags and bottles, as single-use items like paper bags and bottled water are prohibited.

Reusable steel plates in use for serving personnel on duty In addition, reusable steel plates will be used for meals served to police officers and staff, and advance preparations have been made to ensure a smooth, eco-friendly operation. Supporting the waste management efforts during the flower show are organizations like Beautiful Bharat, Saahas, and the Indian Ploggers Army, working together to maintain the event’s cleanliness..
