The Old Vienna, in Eastwood Road, Leigh, closed in 2016 and sat vacant as a notorious eyesore before finally being demolished in March last year. However, the site has been sitting empty since as developer Forma London sought minor amendments to parking and landscaping on previously approved plans for flats. Now, those plans have been recommended for approval ahead of a meeting of Southend Council's development control committee next week.
