Beauty and the Geek star Alex Chadley has opened up about his time on the show as he claimed that he fought ‘so hard’ to get to the final. The 29-year-old said he appeared on the popular reality show in the hope of stepping outside his comfort zone and perhaps even meeting someone special. At the time he was partnered up with beauty Eliza.
The show sees ten stunning ladies and ten intellectually driven men come together as they try their hand at dating each other, while taking part in a series of challenges. Taking to his YouTube Channel, Alex spoke out about his experience and gave insight on how it made him feel.
Speaking about when he first entered the show, he said: “We got our own secret nerd base. It was so good. We got a ping pong table, coaches, gaming stuff and we even had consoles like PS1, PS2 and that kind of thing.
” However, he admitted that they never got to use the equipment much as they were on a tight filming schedule. Alex and partner Eliza faced a number of challenges throughout their time as they found themselves in the bottom three times. He admitted that it ‘all fell apart’ during episode 11.
At the time, the Geeks were tasked with going on speed dates. He said: “It was like some sort of bar and we went from table to chair to meet six girls in total and there was a good variety of people.” He continued: “Fast forward to the end of the episode and there is no prize on guessing who was in the losers' contest for the fourth time and I just thought I can not deal with this anymore.
” Despite the hurdles in his journey, he managed to make it to the final but despite ‘fighting so hard’ to win with Eliza they lost out to after 10 out of 14 contestants voted for them to be eliminated. Reminiscing on the moment, he said: “I just think there were many other ways the finally could run and it did not need to rely on who you were friends with, but the journey itself was amazing.” He added: “I got to meet a girl who I had nothing in common with and we did so much awesome stuff together, especially having to fight so hard for a place in the final really made me appreciate how well we complete each other's skill sets.
