The Beach Front Arts Fest returned to Pennoyer Park for its fourth year Saturday, with local musicians, artists and businesses sharing their art with the community. The event space was ringed by hanging lampshade jellyfish, among other decorations crafted by volunteers, and two music stages featured live music throughout the day.

The arts festival came from offhand remarks he, his fiancé and friend said to each other several years ago while walking through the park. “We just said, ‘Wow, it’s such a beautiful location, someone should throw a festival here,’” O’Boyle recalled. “Why not us?” It was important to have spaces for celebrating local art, O’Boyle said, something that was personally important to him as an artist and musician himself.

Kenosha has a “vibrant” art community worth highlighting, he said. “It’s a free art festival for the community to get people out, supporting local music, art and businesses,” O’Boyle said. “It also gives new artists an opportunity to get their feet wet.
