Strictly Come Dancing have announced the fifth person set to dust off their dance shoes for the new series. The BBC show is in its 20th series this year, and one more name has been announced for the upcoming series. Toyah Willcox will follow in the footsteps of other previously announced contestants including Chris McCausland and JB Gill.

Speaking about joining the show, Toyah said: "Wow Strictly Come Dancing , can you believe it! This is going to be a wild and wonderful ride, and I'm here for every sparkly second. I’m used to performing for big crowds but this is completely fresh for me, how I will do, it’s a mystery..

. I just want to get cracking and learn some dance routines now!" Toyah is hoping she can make it all the way to Blackpool as she has a special family connection to the iconic Tower Ballroom. Explaining how her mother was a child actress, and a dancer, she said she was keen to perform there.

JLS star JB Gill was the third name to be announced yesterday, where he insisted his previous time on the show - and his time in the boyband - wouldn't give him any unfair advantage. He said: "I did the Christmas special, it was great fun. I did the jive and I feel like it was probably the most similar dance to things that I will have done in JLS, but I do feel like a lot of the styles, particularly the ballroom styles, are particularly alien to me.

I’m not a trained dancer, I didn’t go to stage school growing up so it’s going to be a learning curve." Speaking about whether being in JLS might help him, he added: "I don’t think anybody is going to be prepared for the amount of time that is going to go into this, the rehearsals, tours and things like that, that I’ve done before, you know you’re learning a lot of different songs. But it’s going to be a different routine every single week, within three or four days, plus all the other stuff that’s going on.

" Elsewhere, comedian Chris McCausland was also confirmed for the new series. "This is literally the worst kept secret there has ever been in British television. I think its been out there, it’s been exhausting keeping a secret everyone seems to know," he quipped, "I'm apprehensive, massively apprehensive.

I don’t know what I’m getting myself into, I’ve never watched it, obviously. It’s just some music. I don’t dance, I have never danced.

I grew up with headbanging and mosh pits." * Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads ..
