David Mitchell's new BBC murder mystery series Ludwig has left fans eagerly anticipating a new series. Ludwig stars David in the lead role as John, a man who has found a talent for crime solving after impersonating his brother James, who is a police detective but is currently missing. John is great at solving cases - but will he get a chance to solve any in the future? All six episodes of Ludwig are currently available on BBC iPlayer , with the show being aired every Wednesday on BBC One - but will there be another series of the show, or are John's crime fighting days over? A second season of the show has yet to be confirmed but there is hope there could be a new series - if the show gets enough viewers.

Speaking about one element of the series, where viewers don't find out about the full meaning of the cipher on James' wall, David teased: "Even over the whole first series, that's not all solved, which is why we hope for more." Could this be a hint that another series is in the works? Asked if he was hoping for a new series, David teased more could be to come. He said: "Certainly our hope that it will carry on, so fingers crossed.

" The show also stars Anna Maxwell Martin as Lucy Betts-Taylor, Dipo Ola as DI Russell Carter, Gerran Howell as DC Simon Evans and Izuka Hoyle as DS Alice Finch. Dylan Hughes as Henry Betts-Taylor, Dorothy Atkinson as DCS Carol Shaw and Ralph Ineson as Chief Constable Ziegler also star in the BBC show - and with lots of unanswered questions, the show.
