BBC Breakfast's Jon Kay had a moment of hesitation on Tuesday's show when he questioned whether he could discuss a certain topic live on air. During the episode, Jon, 54, and co-host Sally Nugent , 53, were chatting about Worcestershire Sauce and cocktails. When asked if he liked the famous condiment, Jon replied: "I do, in a Bloody Mary! " He then quickly asked: "Am I even allowed to say that at this time of the morning? " Sally reassured him with: "You are and you just did! You're definitely allowed.

" This comes after Jon was left baffled during a segment last week about luxury advent calendars, some costing a staggering £640. Jon was shocked that people would spend such an amount, with Sally commenting: "Jon can barely look, look at Jon's face" to which he responded: "I can't believe this! I cannot believe this, people saying they pay £40 even just seems an extraordinary amount of money." In a humorous exchange, Jon told Sally: "I just told Sally I'll make her one just like you used to make in the old days" to which Sally shot back: "I already know, I'm going to get you the beard grooming one.

" However, Jon was further confused by the concept of a beard grooming advent calendar, asking: "I have to do that for 24 days? How much beard grooming can you take!" reports the Express . BBC Breakfast's tweet about advent calendars also stirred up viewer reactions. It read: "Would you spend hundreds of pounds on a luxury advent calendar? On #BBCBreakfast with exactly 100 days until Christmas , Nina has been looking at their popularity.

" Viewers didn't hold back, with one chiming in: "No way!", while another reminisced: "I love the advent calendars with just the old fashioned pictures behind the windows, my wife buys me one every year for my birthday on the 1st Dec and she says they are getting really hard to find these days" and someone else remarked: "It's September...

.." Earlier this week marked the much-anticipated return of Carol Kirkwood to BBC Breakfast after a considerable hiatus from the show.

The popular weather presenter, aged 62, had taken a three-week breather from her regular updates. Carol's comeback on Monday (September 23) was met with news that might have dismayed her followers. On X, she announced: "The Met Office has an AMBER 'be prepared' warning in force today, across parts of central and southern England.

Disruption is possible. There has already been some flooding @BBCBreakfast xx." Despite the grim weather prospects, fans expressed their joy over Carol's return.

Renowned for her friendly greetings, Carol posted a simple "good morning" on her X handle and received a host of cheerful replies from her audience. BBC Breakfast continues on weekdays at 6am on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
