BBC Breakfast 's Carol Kirkwood has shared details from her recent Christmas wedding. The weather presenter, 62, was on Tuesday's episode of The One Show to talk about her new book Once Upon a Time in Venice. However, chat got onto Carol's wedding to long-term partner Steve Randall , where the couple tied the knot in Buckinghamshire on December 27.
The One Show host, Alex Jones, said: "You got married in December, you say the weather wasn't on your side...
which is terrible when you work in weather, that is bad. But you looked super happy and super beautiful in that picture, congratulations, how's it all going?" A beaming Carol replied: "Fabulously, I couldn't be happier!" Talking about her wedding, she added: "It was the perfect day, it was a small intimate wedding it was beautiful, very romantic but there was a storm, can you believe it? Storm Gerrit! "When we booked it, obviously it was a bit in advance, so we didn't know there was going to be a storm. I was watching it in the lead up to the wedding, thinking: 'Nooo!' But on the actual day, we didn't even notice it!" It comes as Carol spoke about her wedding earlier this year on BBC Breakfast, saying: "I cannot tell you how fabulous it's been.
It was the most perfect and romantic and intimate wedding - we are both so incredibly happy. "You shouldn't really be talking like this about your own wedding but it was blissful, it was romantic, it was absolutely perfect. I would not change a thing about the day", adding: " It was very small as well, and intimate, so you didn't have to worry that Auntie Nelly didn't have a glass of sherry in her hand.
" Not much is known about Carol's husband Steve , 47, however, she's previously said he's "extremely handsome" and never fails to make her laugh. "He always makes me a cup of tea before I go to work in the morning, which is very romantic - it's 2.45am," she told Prima Magazine.
"He often leaves me a little love note for when I come home from work. That, to me, is worth a million red roses," she revealed, telling fans he is "the best thing that's ever happened to me, without a shadow of a doubt". The One Show continues on weekdays at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
