BBC Breakfast viewers were thrilled to see presenter Emma Vardy back on their screens, a full year since she'd last graced the Salford studios of the show. Emma Vardy filled in for Nina Warhurst last summer as the programme's business expert before taking maternity leave for her baby son, Jago Fionn. She later announced an exciting career move, revealing she'd become the BBC's LA Correspondent and planned to move overseas with her family.
Fast forward to Monday, and Emma was back on BBC Breakfast, reporting from Chicago on the US Presidential election where she spearheaded the coverage of the Democratic convention, according to Hello! Taking to X, Emma posted: "We're all scrubbed up in Chicago where Kamala Harris gets her star turn at the Democratic Convention. (Tho hrs earlier I was covered in mud at a swing state demolition derby! ! )". "Watch @BBCBreakfast for the drama of the US Presidential race and some wreckage of a brutal clash!!" While Emma returned from maternity leave several months ago, her new role means viewers won't catch her on the red sofa anymore.

She then revealed, "After an incredible 5 years in Northern Ireland, Jago Fionn @mr_plusone and I are off to actual Hollywood!" She also expressed her affection for Northern Ireland stating, "I've absolutely loved my time in Northern Ireland and it will always have a very special place in my heart.
