BBC Breakfast's resident weather expert Carol Kirkwood issued an urgent warning to viewers during her segment this week. On Monday (August 19), Carol provided a meteorological update to presenters Ben Thompson and Sally Nugent. The conversation began on a shaky note as Ben stated: "Let's talk to Carol, because she's been telling us that it's been feeling a little autumnal outside.

It's too soon, it can't be! " Sally added: "It is! If you haven't been out yet it is." Carol then issued an urgent warning to viewers, explaining: "It is going to continue to be so this week. Good morning everyone.

The weather really is looking like it's taken an autumnal turn." She continued: "As we go through the week there's going to be heavy rain at times, we'll see some of that today. It's going to be unseasonably windy even with gales, but there still will be some warm sunshine around.

" Carol acknowledged that the weather will be "unsettled", a sentiment echoed by Ben who admitted he was feeling "unsettled" about the sudden transition from summer to autumn. Delving further into the forecast, Carol warned that the "clouds are going to continue to build" as the rain "sweeps in from the west". She added: "It's going to be accompanied by strong winds.

" Viewers at home took to social media to share their thoughts on the forecast, reports the Express . One viewer expressed their disappointment with the seasonal shift, commenting, "Feels like autumn Carol, not good. Happy week! " while another welcomed the chill: "Perfect temperature in Nottingham, a week later, still recovering from a week away in the Cairngorms.

" Another audience member shared their dismay, stating, "Feeling autumnal. Oh no! " as a different fan pleaded for better weather: "Carol, tell the clouds to go away! ". In a different segment of the show, Strictly Come Dancing professional Vito Coppola caused a stir on the sofa when he declared his aversion to addressing presenter Ben following a culinary clash over Italian food.

Vito confessed that a cardinal sin committed by Brits is adding pineapple to pizza. When Ben interjected, "I love pineapple on pizza! ", it prompted Vito to retort humorously, "No! You eat the pineapple on the pizza? I don't know if I want to talk to you again." He continued to implore earnestly with joined hands, "Why? Why? " and added, "I'm almost crying because of this.

" He further explained his stance, saying, "You know why? Because pizza is pizza. You know what I mean? I don't put chocolate cream on fish and chips, I don't do that! So why do we have to put pineapple on the pizza? It's so beautiful with the sauce, the tomato and the mozzarella.".
