BARBIE IMPERIAL – Kapamilya actress Barbie Imperial is the newest cast member of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.” Coco Martin’s “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” is a 2023 Philippine television series that serves as a modern adaptation of the 1986 film of the same name. Coco Martin, a popular Filipino actor known for his roles in TV dramas and action films, stars in the series and also serves as its producer.
The show updates the original story with a contemporary twist while paying homage to Fernando Poe Jr., the original star of the film. The series follows a similar premise, focusing on the life of a young man who navigates the challenges and dangers of living in the Quiapo district of Manila.
It combines action, drama, and social commentary, and has been well-received for its engaging storytelling and Coco Martin’s performance. Kapamilya actress Barbie Imperial has joined the cast of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” where she will portray the character Tisay. Her debut on the show was previewed in Friday’s episode, and she also shared a brief teaser on social media, revealing that her character is a friend of Coco Martin’s role, Tanggol.
It’s not yet clear if Tisay will become a romantic interest for Tanggol. This isn’t Imperial’s first collaboration with Coco; she was also part of the successful seven-year run of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” in 2020, where she played Lt. Villaluna, a member of Cardo Dalisay’s Task Force Aguila.
“FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” airs new episodes on weekdays at 8:00 p.m. across several platforms including Kapamilya Channel, Jeepney TV, A2Z, TV5, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and TFC.
