BELLAIRE, MI - One of the most eye-catching events of the summer is about to happen this weekend in Northern Michigan. Balloons over Bellaire is set to soar over Shanty Creek Resort on Friday, Aug. 23 and Saturday, Aug.
24. Nearly two dozen of those big, beautiful balloons are slated to lift off from the resort’s Summit Mountain, which is behind the Lakeview Hotel. They will then fly over Lake Bellaire.
Balloon launches are planned for Friday and Saturday evening. The event is free for spectators. “Don’t forget your camera for this special two-day event as we welcome back 15+ hot air balloonists to Shanty Creek and Bellaire atop the slopes of Summit Mountain,” resort staff said.
