Kalyan: The special investigation team ( SIT ) probing the Badlapur sexual abuse case on Sunday questioned the parents and young brother of the suspect for the second time and visited his house to collect more evidence. The SIT took the suspect's brother for the visit to the house, which has been locked up since the family left following an attack by an unknown person, purportedly to express anger over the sexual abuse, three days ago. The team spent around 40 minutes there and left after recovering some documents related to the case.

Another team questioned the family at Ambernath police station in the evening based on some new facts that have emerged in the case, said sources. Meanwhile, a team from the forensic lab visited the school for the second time to recollect some evidence. An officer associated with the SIT said, "Our SIT head, Aarti Singh, has asked to submit as much evidence as possible and as soon as possible so that the case can be fast-tracked and justice delivered swiftly.

This is why different teams are working on different things throughout the day." Sources said that since the accused's five-day police custody ends on Monday, the SIT will produce him before a special Pocso court in Kalyan, where it may demand additional custody of him. Repairs were on Sunday undertaken at the school, which was vandalised by a mob on Aug 20, so that all classes can resume on Monday.

On Saturday, Classes 5-12 resumed..
