Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield has lifted the lid on Meghan’s Markle’s regrets during the time of her and husband Prince Harry’s royal exit four years ago. Speaking to Fox News, Ms Schofield said the Duchess of Sussex, who sensationally quit the royal family in 2020 alongside Harry, regrets “certain statements” she made amid a feud with the family which continues to this day. “They weren’t received in the way that she had expected and several of her comments have backfired,” Ms Schofield said.
“She and Prince Harry deeply regret the royal racist controversy. Meghan wanted the takeaway from their Oprah interview to be about her mental health,” she continued. During the bombshell March 2021 interview, the Duchess famously claimed members of the royal family raised concerns about the skin colour of her unborn son, Archie.
Ms Schofield added a further regret of Meghan’s was sitting down with New York magazine The Cut the following year which “provided endless commentary for her critics”. She went onto describe the 43-year-old's personal life in California as “isolated but structured”, with few close friends in her circle. The former actress currently resides in the idyllic town of Montecito with Harry and their son Prince Archie, 5, and daughter Princess Lilibet, 3, in a mammoth mansion the couple snapped up for about AUD$21 million.
“The qualifications to be her friend are no secret...
she typically gravitates towards people that can offer her something, contribute to her personal goals,” Ms Schofield said. “She also requires trust and privacy. Her friends group is small.
She is friendly with Montecito locals as you never know someone’s connection or status. Everyone in Montecito has accomplished something significant to be in a position to call it home.” Ms Schofield argued despite putting on a front of having moved on from the past, the Duchess continues to be motivated by "resentment".
“Sightings of the couple are rare and advances towards establishing (connections) with the Sussexes are mostly rejected,” Ms Schofield claimed. “It is important to Meghan that it appears she has moved on, and the drama is beneath her. But that is not the reality.
” “There is still a resentment that fuels a lot of the work she has done over the last three-and-a-half years." In a recent interview with the New York Times, Meghan announced she had invested in Cesta Collective — a luxury handbag brand. It comes as the Duchess has been busy working behind the scenes in the hopes to officially launch her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, later this year.
