MUMBAI: A key eyewitness in the Baba Siddique murder case investigation has received threats from an unidentified caller demanding Rs 5 crore, Mumbai Police reported on Wednesday. The police confirmed that the witness was warned of fatal consequences if the demanded sum of Rs 5 crore remained unpaid. Officials have logged a formal complaint against an unidentified individual at the Khar police station in Mumbai.

The investigation continues to progress as authorities examine the case details. Former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique lost his life on October 12 when three attackers shot him near his son MLA Zeeshan Siddique's office in Mumbai's Nirmal Nagar area. After sustaining chest injuries from the shooting outside his Nirmal Nagar office, he was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai for urgent care, where he passed away on October 12.
