Ayodhya: The birth city of Lord Rama, Ayodhya, has been turned into a beautiful palace ahead of the three-day Diwali festival. A team of the National Security Guard (NSG), 5,000 policemen, and paramilitary personnel have been deployed across the temple town as part of the security measures. Along with this, approximately 150 commandos from the NSG, Anti-Terror Squad (ATS), and Rapid Action Force (RAF) have been deployed at significant locations, including the Ram Mandir.
Additional police personnel and officers from various districts and police headquarters have also been called to form the security paraphernalia. The security forces are keeping vigil in 12-hour shifts as the placement of diyas for Deepotsav has started at Saryu Ghat. A large fleet of security personnel has been deployed to ensure peaceful Diwali and Deepotsav festivities in the city, said Nyyar. Ram Ki Paidi Ghat has also been surrounded using barricades in lanes.
Entry has been restricted to residents.
