The Los Angeles metro area lost a beloved TV anchor in heartbreaking fashion this week as Emmy-winner Chauncy Glover passed away. He was 39 years old. Glover's family released a statement to KCAL expressing their profound devastation at losing Chauncy, who had been working at the station since October 2023.
The cause of his death has not been disclosed. "We, Sherry and Robert Glover, along with Chauncy’s beloved family, are devastated by the unimaginable loss of our beloved Chauncy. He was more than a son and brother — he was a beacon of light in our lives and a true hero to his community," the family said in the statement.
Born in Alabama, Glover's career took him across three timezones as he worked in Michigan, Florida, Georgia and Texas before finally winding up in California. Over the course of his broadcast career, Glover won three Emmys for his work. Continuing their statement, Glover's family highlighted the Chauncy Glover Project, a foundation dedicated to mentoring teenage boys with skills that they may not otherwise have.
