Pune: The Swargate police have arrested an autorickshaw driver and his two accomplices for robbing a mobile phone, silver chain and cash, collectively worth Rs12,000, from a passenger last week. While the robbery occurred late on Friday night, the trio were arrested on Monday. The police have recovered the robbed property and seized the autorickshaw used in the crime from Hadapsar.

The auto driver has been identified as Rohit Chavan (23) of Phursungi in Hadapsar; his accomplices are Mayur alias Saket Chavan (19) of Mantarwadi and Sudharshan Kamble (22) of Warje. Senior inspector Yuvraj Nandre of the Swargate police said, "Kamble is also an auto driver. The arrested persons have been involved in cases of vehicle theft, robbery, and other crimes, in various cases registered against them with the Sinhagad Road, Bund Garden, Bibvewadi, Bharati Vidyapeeth and Swargate police stations.
