Wildlife writer is left frustrated after only getting ‘small fee’ for her work The ‘Puffin Rock’ book was inspired by the film ‘Puffin Rock and the New Friends’ and contained games and outdoor activities for children The writer and zoologist Juanita Browne has been refused the artists’ tax exemption for a book on wildlife aimed at children which was illustrated by Cartoon Saloon. The Tax Appeals Commission has ruled that the Puffin Rock activity book did not meet the criteria of having a “unique insight into the subject matter”, and of being a “pioneering work”.
