August 13, (THEWILL) – Austyn Ogannah, the publisher of THEWILL Newspaper & THEWILL DOWNTOWN Magazine, is 50 years old. The media chief clocked 50 on Tuesday, August 13, and is celebrating low-key with his family in their southern California seaside residence. A source close to him says he, however, intends to hold a small soiree to celebrate the landmark age at a later date in the company of very close friends and family members as soon as he returns to Nigeria.

The modest celebration, according to the source, will herald the unveiling of his charitable foundation, through which he will support children of single mothers in Nigeria, who are struggling to put their children through school. Having been raised by a single mother, Ezinne Roseline Obiajulu, “he saw first-hand how tough it was for his mother to raise five children and so he understands the struggles single mothers have to go through to cater for their wards and ensure they succeed. “Thus the foundation will pay for the education of these children and support their mothers by providing cash for their upkeep for as many as it can help,” a close associate of the publisher revealed.

In response to one of the goodwill messages he received, the Prince from the royal family of Onicha-Ugbo Kingdom said he is grateful and thankful to God for his mercies and grace upon him and is happy to be celebrating this milestone with his beautiful family. “I will celebrate with you and our close friends in Lagos later when I return by God’s grace,” he wrote in a Whatsapp message to one of his friends, which was seen by THEWILL..
