Aussies are travelling more than ever despite the current economic climate and road trips are a popular choice, especially for families. New survey data from Youi , involving over 2,000 Australians, has revealed where Aussies are choosing to holiday. According to the data, the 'great Australian road trip' is still very much alive and thriving across the nation, revealing the most popular road trip in the country.

The road, which covers 253kms stretches alongside the south-eastern coast of the country. Interestingly, the eastern section of the road was completed first in 1922, and the final leg of the road (from Lorne to Apollo Bay) was finally constructed in November 1932.

Those living in NSW chose Sydney to Brisbane as their favourite drive, while travellers from Queensland spent the most time on the road, with 33% driving more than 17 hours.
The survey also showed, 58 per cent of travellers who stayed in the same state drove less than 7 hours, while 46 per cent of interstate travellers drove for more than .
