Darren Spiby, who takes on the role of Liam in Oasis tribute band NOASIS, has revealed he has spent an eyewatering $200,000 to emulate the iconic Brit rocker. Since forming the tribute band in the UK in the mid-90s, Darren says that he has spent a staggering $120,000 on lookalike clothes including Adidas Spezial parkas, trainers and bucket hats worn by the Wonderwall hitmaker.



The band also dropped $25,000 on rare guitars including a rare Union jack guitar, the same model as Noel's and painted in the colours of Noel's treasured Manchester City. The high-value shopping list doesn't end there either, with a further $13,000 spent on a scooter, registered as 'Lyla' after the Oasis 2005 hit, and $5,000 on a custom-made wig from Italy . The band even spent $12,000 recreating the iconic album cover for Oasis' seminal 1997 album Be Here Now, including renting a Rolls Royce and a 3-metre phone box.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Darren said that while his attention to detail may not be easy on the hip pocket, it's definitely worthwhile. 'Financially, it might not be worth it, but maybe it will all come to fruition,' Darren said. While sourcing the items may be a full-time job in and of itself, Darren said that a global network of 'shoppers' are on call to help him out. 'I have this little network of people around the corners of the world that keep their eye out for things that come around that I don't have,' he said.

'I'm a bit nervous that it's not the news that everybody wants,' he said. 'But I'm still super excited, man. It's a privilege for be because I set this up in 1995 during the first Oasis mania so, for this to come back around full circle is something else.
