'Golden Hour' acquires over 5,400 monthly searches in Australia. But as the country boasts some of the world's most scenic views – from coastal landscapes, and serene nature reserves to the outback –which Australian locations offer the best sunset and sunrise views? Australian technology retailer, Becextech found the best sundown and rise spots nationwide, using Pinterest data. They created an index analysing the number of pin locations, reactions and re-pins for sunset and sunrise pictures.

Here are Australia's top 10 'golden hour' locations. Located along the Sunshine Coast, Mooloolaba has earned its place as the tenth-best golden hour hotspot with a score of 16. This coastal hub makes for an ideal spring getaway thanks to its local seaside charm.



From a sunset stroll down the beach to discovering the marine life through whale watching, there's plenty of opportunity to savour golden hour moments - whether you're living through them or capturing them on your phone to look back and enjoy for years to come. Western Australia's Lancelin earns the ninth spot with a golden hour score of 16.20.

This town is known for its stellar waters from its beaches and fishing spots. It is not short of activities enticing visitors to experience various water sports and marine life and explore the vast sand dunes – a great place to catch the sunset. Thredbo acquired a golden hour score of 16.

Also in fourth with a score of 18.45 is Coffs Harbour. Situated on the coastline of New South Wales, the coastal city of Coffs Harbour offers a vista of marina life and pockets of botanical beauty providing locals and visitors an endless opportunity to catch the sunset or sunrise at different viewpoints.

The Twelve Apostles in Victoria claims the third-best golden hour spot with a score of 19.10. Margaret River claims the second-best spot for golden hour, earning a score of 19.55. This golden hour hotspot boasts one of Australia's most breathtaking coastline, surfing and marine life – perfect for capturing the ultimate sunrise or sunset picture.

The Great Barrier Reef has the most picturesque skies in Australia according to Pinterest, acquiring the highest golden hour score of 20.60 out of 30. With its view of the Pacific Ocean and home to the world's largest collection of coral reefs, it's no surprise that it has the most picturesque skies nationwide.
