Sydney has so much to offer visitors it can sometimes be overwhelming to work out where to start when planning a trip. Lucky for us, Ruel – one of Australia's biggest pop stars , and long-time Sydneysider – has shared some of his insider tips on where to go out, the best places to dine, and how to fill your time. A jam-packed city guide is one thing, but a weekend curated by a home-grown celeb is quite another.

Here the Dazed & Confused singer spills his Sydney travel secrets, admitting the city has basically "ruined everywhere else" for him. I'd then make my way to my favourite restaurant, Kiln in Surry Hills .

It's on the rooftop of the Ace Hotel Sydney and has an amazing view of the city and a really chilled atmosphere. Ruel: My favourite breakfast place in Sydney is a new cafe in Manly called Noon (from the same team behind Chica Bonita , Sunset Sabi and Busta ). It's right by the beach and has incredible food.

For lunch I would have to pick Jimmy's Falafel in the CBD, and aside from Kiln I really love Chaco Bar . Ruel: If you're coming to Sydney for the first time, I've gotta say that the most famous attractions are still some of the best. The Sydney Harbour Bridge BridgeClimb is pretty amazing (there's also the BridgeClimb Burrawa Aboriginal Climb Experience , which is led by an Indigenous storyteller).

And the Sydney by Seaplane experience in Rose Bay is also pretty awesome. If you like the beach, I have to recommend the Northern Beaches . All the way from Manly to Palm Beach , the beaches here are some of the most beautiful I've ever seen.

It's great for snorkelling and swimming, and everybody is sunbathing on the surrounding rocks which makes it a slightly different vibe to the beach if you don't want to mess with sand! Ruel: Growing up in Sydney has almost ruined everywhere else in the world for me, because I feel like Sydney has it all. It might be local bias, but I truly believe you can do everything in Sydney.

There are beautiful remote beaches and nature, there's great food, nightlife, culture and amazing people..
