Aussie man's disappointment after forking out for a harbour view hotel suite in Sydney: 'Are they having a laugh' An Aussie was left fuming after discovering the real view from his harbour room READ MORE: Furious travellers reveal their worst hotel room views By Amanda Bechara For Daily Mail Australia Published: 22:43 EDT, 23 September 2024 | Updated: 22:50 EDT, 23 September 2024 e-mail View comments An Aussie man has been left fuming after forking out extra for a harbour view suite during staycation in Sydney only to find the outlook 'incredibly disappointing'. Patrick Clifton was excited to spend time looking over the water - but instead landed in a room with a 'tiny glimpse' of the harbour. 'How's this for a f*** around, so I book a room and they say it's going to be views of Darling Harbour, but look, what the f*** is this mate,' he said in a video.

'Hey, enjoy your view of the ICC Sydney. 'Enjoy your view of the oldest f****** building known to man.' He shared a video taken from the room which showed office buildings, a tennis court and city streets with only a tiny slip of the world famous harbour visible from one side.

The livid Aussie continued to show the cityscape with its office buildings, an industrial looking block and a swimming pool, and got increasingly frustrated. 'Brah, are these cunts having a f****** laugh?' he asked. Patrick Clifton, from Sydney, was having a staycation in the city and was very disappointed to discover what the hotel considered to be a 'harbour view' room Part of the view from Patrick's hotel room looked out onto what he called the 'oldest building known to man' and another view showed only a small slip of the water Read More Inside Australia's best luxury hotel: Why this dreamy adults-only hideaway is a 'must visit' for thousands The Aussie left his fans in no doubt that he would requesting a change of rooms and later reported that he had been upgraded to a better view and was 'chilling'.

While many people found the meltdown 'hilarious', most couldn't understand what he had gotten upset about in the first place. 'I'm so confused. That is Darling Harbour,' one said.

'I mean, you technically do have harbour views,' another added. 'Darling Harbour isn't much to look at anyway,' a third chimed in. Others who agreed that the view was underwhelming said that Patrick must have opted for one of the hotel's cheaper rooms.

'Got what you paid for!' one said. And another insisted that getting so worked up over a view wasn't worth it. 'First world problems,' she said.

But others blamed the hotels for exaggerating views in order to charge more money for their rooms. 'Happens every time,' one said. 'Always read the reviews,' another added.
