Audi India has issued a voluntary recall for 37 units of the e-Tron GT and RS e-Tron GT due to a potential brake hose defect affecting models manufactured between January 2020 and June 2024. New Delhi: Audi India has announced a voluntary recall of 37 units of its flagship performance electric cars, the e-Tron GT and RS e-Tron GT. The recall is linked to a potential defect in the brake hoses on the front axle, which may result in cracks and a subsequent loss of brake fluid.
This defect affects models manufactured between January 9, 2020, and June 12, 2024, as per details shared with the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). The issue stems from pressure on the brake hoses caused by steering and bending forces, which can lead to damage near the attachment points. While this may result in the loss of braking power on the front axle, Audi reassures owners that the cars will not completely lose their braking ability, as the rear axle brake circuit will remain functional.
A warning message will appear on the instrument cluster if the brake fluid level drops below the minimum threshold, notifying drivers to stop and check the brake fluid. This recall is part of a global safety measure initiated by Audi for the e-Tron GT range, with 37 units affected in India. These units were sold between 2021 and 2024, and owners of the affected vehicles are encouraged to have their cars inspected and repaired by authorised service centres at no cost.
