Prayagraj: The Executive Council (EC) of Allahabad University (AU) has approved the appointment of 13 assistant professors in the department of philosophy and one assistant professor in the Institute of Gandhian Thoughts and Peace Studies. With this, the number of appointments during the tenure of the present vice chancellor Prof Sangita Srivastava has increased to 353. The appointments were approved by the EC during an online meeting chaired by the VC.

“With the continuous efforts of VC in the last three years, not only major administrative reforms were made in the university, teaching and learning were brought back on track but also the work of implementing the new education policy in the university was started and the financial condition was strengthened,” said AU PRO Prof Jaya Kapoor. The appointment in the department of philosophy has infused new life in this important department, she added. The post of professor and associate professor and one post each of differently abled, ST and unreserved category remained unfulfilled as none found suitable (NFS).
