Tuesday, August 27, 2024 ATTA members unite with Zimbabwe’s travel markets at Spotlight TravelExpo, Hyatt Regency Harare, featuring 20+ African exhibitors and 100+ local travel pros. The Spotlight TravelExpo presents a prime chance for ATTA members to engage with both the Zimbabwe outbound market targeting Africa and the domestic travel sector. Hosted at the renowned Mekles Hotel, now known as Hyatt Regency Harare: The Meikles, this event will feature 20 exhibitors from various African nations.

Over 100 Zimbabwean travel professionals are anticipated to attend Supported by AZTA and coordinated by Tina Pigors of Co-ordinating Zimbabwe, the expo will facilitate trade registrations. There’s been a notable surge in both corporate and leisure travel from Zimbabwe to destinations across Africa and the Indian Ocean islands. Simple Flying analysts report that the Johannesburg-Harare route is the busiest international corridor in Southern Africa, with 70 weekly flights as of June.



Harare boasts 75 IATA and numerous non-IATA travel agencies, making this event an excellent opportunity for airlines, international tourist offices, hotel groups, and tour operators to connect with local agents. Recent insights from the South African Tourism Insight Unit highlight Kenya as a top destination for Zimbabwean travelers. The unit also forecasts that Zimbabwe’s outbound market will return to pre-pandemic levels by 2024.

Additionally, the Spotlight TravelExpo in Dar es Salaam, set for 27 September at Johari Rotana, is almost fully booked, with 25 exhibitors already confirmed..
