The fashion industry has been exploring the idea of masculinity for decades. Its definition, interpretations and connotations continue to fascinate. It only seemed apt then that we would attempt to elucidate a nuanced perspective of our own.

Enter: Vogue Man, a special edition of our magazine first launched in 2023, putting the spotlight on some of the most prominent male changemakers in the spaces of fashion, wellness and lifestyle. Just last week, we celebrated our second-ever edition of Vogue Man, released in tandem with our July/August issue. Titled ‘Thrive’ and fronted by Oscar-winning actor, musician and producer Riz Ahmed , Vogue Singapore threw a celebratory bash in its name—and it was a night to remember.

We welcomed the city’s most stylish folk to the intimate rooftop address of HighHouse , which was certainly the place to be. With its plush, modern interiors and booming sound system, the destination has cemented its station as a formidable nightlife mecca in Singapore. Amid considered moments of artful flair and a stunning bar facade, there was simply no better venue for Vogue Man to celebrate its second edition.

Guests included Vogue Singapore’s contributors past and present, cherished industry friends of the magazine and a notable fleet of the zeitgeist’s most prominent voices. As they arrived in succession, we were treated to a visual feast of some stellar style moments—which we clocked for our best-dressed awards to be unveiled later in the evening. But not before we captured some golden memories with roving Fujifilm Instax Wide 400 cameras going around the room, ready to snap away so that each guest could head home with a keepsake from the night.

And if anyone wanted to have a go at making their own memories? The Fujifilm booth by the window put a collection of the brand’s trusty digital cameras on display, allowing guests to snap photographs against the stunning backdrop of the city skyline. To kick things off, Vogue Singapore’s fashion features editor—and emcee for the evening—Maya Menon gathered the ecstatic crowd for an opening speech by editor-in-chief Desmond Lim , who shared more about the concept behind ‘Thrive’ and what success might look like in today’s society. Soon enough, it was time for our guests to jingle and mingle .

True enough, no one gets a party going like Don Julio , a sentiment we shared with DJ Aldrin—one of the tequila brand’s in-house DJs—who turned up the heat with a rousing playlist on the deck. What would a party be without a dependable array of delectable canapés and more delicious beverages? To that end, HighHouse’s fabulous bar was the hotspot of the evening—drawing up an all-star menu of tantalising Don Julio cocktails. Think the refreshing citrus notes of a Don Julio Paloma or heady, salt-rimmed Don Julio Margaritas sweetened by agave nectar.

Some delicious wines from Penfolds also contributed to the good mood all around, as guests engaged in conversation over rich, full-bodied pours like the 2021 Vin Rouge and Shiraz Another delight came in the form of a spritz-as-you-wish corner from Ralph Lauren Fragrances , where many guests had a whiff of the brand’s latest addition to its polo collection, the Polo 67 eau de toilette. Woodsy and versatile, this was a little tease to the full 75ml package that guests would later walk away with in their covetable goodie bags from the evening. Other exciting highlights in the goodie bag also included a number of Don Julio x High House vouchers, Penfolds-branded tumblers, exclusive stickers and vouchers from Fujifilm and of course—a copy of our second Vogue Man edition, packaged together with our July/August ‘Cravings’ issue.

No Vogue Singapore party is complete without fashion, and there were some veritable style stars who were well-deserving of a mention. The guests we selected as our final triptych of best-dressed attendees? Erwin Hastings , Sabrina Marican and Zachary Ho . Read More By Janice Sim One walked away with an engraved bottle of Don Julio 1942, another went home with a box of Ralph Lauren Fragrances’s iconic scents including its latest Polo 67, whilst the last lucked out with a 2D1N stay at the Pinnacle Room in Mondrian Duxton Hotel.

Legend has it, they’re still out there serving their sartorial A-game. Snag a copy of our latest Vogue Man ‘Thrive’ issue here ..
